Pomegranate Ivy
I guess this whole thing is just my stream-of-consciousness toward some kind of bildungsroman... or something?
I could sit here and say the Pomegranate Ivy consists of a deeper meaning, where an idea takes root, digging from within. Perhaps, it’s an expression of raw emotion — growing and consuming like ivy on a brick wall. And I am the brick house, covered in the dense foliage. I am beautiful, and lush. I share my leaves with the caterpillars, butterflies, and insects. The birds nest in my quiet spaces, while I protect and shelter small animals running from predators and stormy weather.
I could say it represents the fertility and depth of the pomegranate fruit. It signifies life, death, and rebirth. The pomegranate beats like a heart, feeding the house’s mind, body, and soul. The house takes its first breath and begins to grow. Together, the pomegranate and ivy passionately weave, intertwining and consuming each other through a balance of take and give. Maybe it’s a symbol of story-telling, layered with self-discovery and change.
But I’d be lying - I just thought the words sounded pretty together.
